August 25, 2007 at 11:18 amI have have found what produces this problem.
It happens when i have a sequence in a sequence in FCP in HD. Both have 1080i 25fps proreshq timeline settings.
When I go into the sequence that i have in my timeline it plays properly.
Has anyone else had problems with this. I havent played around with other HD timeline settings, but it should play correctly, shoulden

August 27, 2007 at 7:55 pmI’m having the same exact problem! On FCP 5.0.4 OR 6 w/ BM 6.3 OR 6.4 drivers w/ HD or SD cards!
I’m playing 720p23.976 media out via SD downconversion and the video is resizing rapidly and then crashing FCP. 1080 downconversion looks great as does 720p native on an HD display.
I was able to fix the problem by downgrading back to the 6.2 drivers, but YES this is a confirmed issue. THE 6.3 & 6.4 DRIVERS CANNOT DOWNCONVERT 720P. For now, I’m staying away from the new drivers.

August 30, 2007 at 9:29 pmI see no such crash report…. maybe that’s because it’s more like a “freeze” than a “crash.” Basically, I get the spinning volleyball of death, and even after waiting 10 minutes or more nothing happens so I’m forced to do a force quit. I don’t think logs are created when you force quit.
Apologies for the confusion. It’s a freeze not a crash…
