Hi, i was wondering if this HDD system would work with HD Pro pcie?

    Dual dual core 3 GHz.
    intel s5000xvn workstation mobo..

this mobo has 6 sata conector with raid 0,1,10… at 3Gb/s

so here is the question(s). if i use the onboard sata raid device only for video purpose, would 4 Western digital sata2 3Gb/s 750GB OR 4 hitachi 1 Tb disks be enough for capture and playback of HD? These disk are supposed to give 90 MB/s each..

Or do i need a seperate sata raid card like adaptec 1430?

    Cheers,

    Pekin

    Hi Pekin,

Yes, you can probably get away with using the internal drives raided together. Some users do that with 3 additional drives in the Mac Pro. This will be handy for capture and playback but the number of streams you will be able to playback simultaneously will be limited.
