Hi,

You’ll only see the Blackmagic Codec when you are in After Effects. In Final Cut Pro, you’ll see the Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codecs.
We do this to prevent Quicktime calling the wrong codecs when rendering. However, since they both use the same FourCC, the Apple Uncompressed codec can ply our Blackmagic codec clips, and vice versa.

Hi Jeremy,

The DeckLink HD does not come with any cables.

HDLink comes supplied with the AC adapter. The standard power cord that connected the adapter to your mains is not provided.

Hi Alain,

You mentioned that the footage had been recaptured to 720p23.98 uncompressed 8-bit. Why do you need to framerate convert that again?

Since the Panasonic Framerate Converter only works with DVCPRO HD, anything you’ll need to convert has to be captured in that format via firewire.

Hi David,

When getting the error message, what do you have in your Viewer window?

Have you tried dragging the Sequence from the Browser window onto the “Insert” / “Assemble” icon in the Edit To Tape window?

Hi,

Here’s an interim workaround in order to maintain external video playout.

When you download the codec from our website. Rename Blackmagic Codec.component to Blackmagic Codec1.component

Move Blackmagic Codec1.component to /Library/Quicktime and remove FCP Uncompressed 422.component

Hi,

You’re right about the DeckLink card having a RS422 port, so it won’t work with your card.

Use the Keyspan USB to serial adapter for RS232 control.
