When you metioned rendering with the BMD codecs, do you refer to the stand alone codecs or the ones installed by our drivers?

In FCP 5, Apple’s Uncompressed 4:2:2 codecs have HD colourspace and that’s what we’ve been using as well in our default capture setups.

The Multibridge Extreme is a very complex product and thus takes a long time to build. We’ve been hammering our manufacturing plant pretty hard, but it’s still difficult to keep up with the back orders as well as the demands. The good news is that we’ve got a new machine in that will greatly speed up this process and it’s being put into place right now as I type this. Not only will this speed up the manufacturing process of the Multibridge Extreme, but our other products as well.

You need a PCI-Express (PCIe) card to work with a Dual Core Power Mac G5. Current, your options are the DeckLink SP and the DeckLink Extreme. These 2 cards can switch between composite and component outputs.

We’re still looking into this issue.

Can you please try installing our drivers again, but this time, choose the “Custom” option and de-select the Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codec. Please try this and see if it makes a difference. Make sure you run the “Uninstall Blackmagic” application first.

Send us a copy of your system profile. Just do a ‘Save As…” in the System Profiler 4.0 (XML) format. Just email it to support[at]blackmagic-design.com. Replace [at] with @.

Also, it might be worth having the /Library/Quicktime folder open and see at which stage of the installation process does the AppleHDVCodec.component disappear.

Hi,

Not sure about being a “guru”, but if you’re working with Final Cut Pro, you can capture to DV, DV50, Uncompressed 8 bit and 10 bit (Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codeC) as well as JPEG. Do note that you will not be able to use RT Extreme with JPEG.

For HD video, you’ll be able to capture to DVCPRO HD, Uncompressed 8 bit and 10 bit. With Dual Link 4:4:4 video, you can capture to RGB 4:4:4 using our Blackmagic codec.
