    RE: Multilink Extreme

    1) Will I be able to use the DVI monitor out While the Multibridge Extreme is in “STAND ALONE mode” ?

    2) Will I be Able to Capture Analog HD from my FX 1 throught the MBE with my Decklink ProHD single link ?

    3) How far can I runn SDI HD from the MBE to my Decklink Pro HD single link card ?

    4) when and how much will the PC-X Bridge for the MBE be available and cost ?

    5) How is the Dual Core 2.3GHZ G5 (Single CPU) System working for HD capture and editing ? is this working well
Or do we all have to belly up to a Quad Core 2.5 (dual CPU) ?

I think this is it, if I can get these answers I will most likely be buying tomorrow.

    Thanks again

Yes – operation is the same as HDlink software.

    2) Will I be Able to Capture Analog HD from my FX 1 throught the MBE with my Decklink ProHD single link ?

Yes – Via Component out of the FX1 to uncompressed. No rendering.

    300 feet.

Sorry unsure – Resellers may have an idea of price.

All new PCI Express Power Macs will work fine.

Just to clarify, You can go component HD to MultiBridge to HD-SDI to DeckLink HD-PRO and digitize in FCP with any codec you want right? It’s not just uncompressed. Or am I missing something?

Also, any ship date on Multibridge Studio?

PC currently is uncompressed – FCP on mac will permit working with codecs – Kristian is our resident FCP guru. support@blackmagic-design.com – he can give you the exact breakdown.

    Hi,

Not sure about being a “guru”, but if you’re working with Final Cut Pro, you can capture to DV, DV50, Uncompressed 8 bit and 10 bit (Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codeC) as well as JPEG. Do note that you will not be able to use RT Extreme with JPEG.

For HD video, you’ll be able to capture to DVCPRO HD, Uncompressed 8 bit and 10 bit. With Dual Link 4:4:4 video, you can capture to RGB 4:4:4 using our Blackmagic codec.

    regards
