    Hi,

Just before capturing, does the TC on the deck correspond to the TC being read by Final Cut Pro in the top right corner of the Log and Capture Window?

  • Hi Sean,

Hardware down conversion is available only in the PCI-X version of the DeckLink HD Pro Dual Link card.

Once the video is captured, you can turn on software down conversion on the card in the DeckLink preferences and still get SD monitoring.

  • Hi Harry,

Final Cut Pro overrides the system sound preferences. In Final Cut Pro, go to Final Cut Pro > Audio/Video Settings (or use Cmd-Opt-Q). You should see the option for Audio Playback.

That said, monitoring audio off the Mac’s output when viewing video off the card will most likely give you audio sync issues as the 2 output devices are running off seperate clocks.

  • Hi Dane,

WHat is the format of video you’re plyaing in the G4 and G5?

If there is indeed a compatibility problem with the dongles, it should go away when you uninstall. Is this the case?

    Hi Shane,

I’ll get the files from them then. Don’t bother sending them again.

  • Hi Justin,

Yes, the JPEGs will help. How many pixels are we talking about here?

    Hi Chad,

Try sending the Y output of the DeckLink card into the REF IN of your deck, then take the loop out and send that back to the deck’s Y-inputs. Remember to turn off the 75ohm switch when you do it.

    Hi Robert,

Use the “Blackmagic HDTV 1080psf 23.98” easy setups to cnfigure your project. Once that is selected, you need to open up the capture preset settings (cmd-opt-Q) and change Input under “Qucktime Video Settings” to “HDTV 1080i 29.97”. Your system will now see the input and capture it to the 23.98 timeline.
