Hi Ray,
Unfortunately, I do not have a date. I’m pretty sure it’s something Adobe has to fix, not us. I’ll post back if I hear anything.

Hi Bryan,
Use the easy setups we provide. It’s either “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 – HDV” or “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 50 – HDV” located in Final Cut Pro > Easy Setups (CTRL-Q).
Remember to create a new sequence as easy setups do not affect existing ones. Then drop the clips you’d captured into the newly created sequence. There’s no need to specifically create a setup for down conversion as it is handled by the options in our DeckLink preferences.

Hi,
It sounds like a bad install. If After Effect works with the card, then perhaps the settings for Premiere was not installed properly and that’s why it can’t see the card. Have you tried right clicking on the installer MSI file and then select “Repair”?
Alternatively, uninstall v5.5 and install v5.5.1 and let me know how it goes.

Hi William,
I’ve responded to you via email as well. One quick way you can check if the card is in SD mode only is to open the OS X Display preference pane and see what modes are available in the Video Desktop. If you don’t see any HD resolutions, then something is amiss. Please try that first.
Secondly, do you have another Mac to test this card in?

Was your project setup using the DV setups provided by Apple? Hit Ctrl-Q and select “DV-PAL” or “DV-NTSC”.

Hi Liam,
Are you able to get a preview out when just editing on the timeline? DOes the Video Desktop show up when you’re just in the OS X Finder?
Are you using a PowerMac G5 with PCI (not PCI-X) slots? They are not supported and you’ll not get video output.

April 18, 2006 at 11:02 am in reply to: Down Conversion using HD Pro PCIe card…..advice please![Sean Ashley] “Am i right in assuming the SDI monitor out BNC port is only enabled when you play out through the card from FCP and its not “live” when you are capturing using the HD/SDI input?”
It is also live when capturing. However, there is no down conversion when this is happening. The output is the E-E of the card so if you’re capturing HD, the SDI outputs will be HD even if down conversion is turned on in the DeckLink preferences.

Nope we don’t. Sorry, Bob.
