For 2K playback, you’ll need the Multibridge Extreme. 2K only outputs in real time via the DVI-D connection to a 30″ Cinema Display. Dual Link SDI will not work.

You can either transport them as a Quicktime 2K movie or as a series of DPX files. The HDCAM-SR will not do 2K.

Do note that if you plan to use the DeckLink HD Eextreme, you’ll need a Mac with PCI Express slots. This means one of the new G5s.

Have you checked if your VTR is set to receive SDI audio?

Also check the reference settings.

Hi Jake,

Drag your sequence from the Browser window into your Edit to Tape window OR load your sequence into the Source window. FCP throws this error message when you don’t nothing in your source window. This is how Edit to Tape works.

Hi Sean,

A question probably more suitable for the Final Cut Pro forum but you can acutally edit the current Final Cut Pro Timecode Generator filter to add in a font setting. However, once that is done, you’ll have to render the sequence after applying the filer.

Right click on the filter in Final Cut Pro and select “Open in Editor”, then add in the following line:

setTextFont(“verdana”);

before the following lines:

setTextSize(fontsize);
setTextjustify(kcenterjustify);

replace verdana with the font of your choice and you should be good to go.

Hi,

I was wrong. It does work. The trick is to click on the “tab” when you want to activate the corresponding video in the Canvas window. Merely activating the sequence window but click anywhere in it will not work.
