I would have thought the audio output options would have been a no-brainer/first place you would look?
It’s kind of obvious. Why it resets? Who knows. But if something isn’t working, work back in a logical progression. The fault usually presents itself sooner or later. Especially something as simple as no audio.

Call Ron at Maxx Digital. Don’t get anything else.
I have an EVO2 16tb array that has been running 24/7, without any problems for 9 months. All HD media and it hasn’t skipped a beat. I think last time I speed tested it I was getting almost 800mb/s read/write, too.

Just something to be aware of when using multi-cam.
If you offline then go to online, make sure you select your sequence, right click and select “commit multicam edits” before you begin to batch digitise/conform. Otherwise Avid will digitise ALL the clips used in the group, even though you only want the finished cut.

Perhaps try selecting the mask (in Animatte) so the outline is visible and then try adjusting the key frame? It could be that Avid doesn’t know what to apply the value change to unless the specific mask is selected?
Sorry, still running v4.whatever here!

Just checking, but what sample rate are the audio files at? It’s possible you may have a mixture and may not have your audio sample rate set to convert on the fly?

OMF will work fine. Choosing AAF instead makes no difference. I send OMF’s all the time and there’s no problem.
How has the editor supplied the OMF?
Have they chosen to embed the audio into the OMF? Linked to a media folder containing the files?
Need more info to help you.

I would definitely suggest Unity. Forget Interplay unless you’re a newsroom or something.
Unity is rock solid and Avid supported.

On importing into Avid, there is in the import settings a choice to use existing alpha, invert existing alpha or ignore alpha.
Check that you are selecting the correct alpha. If it’s been rendered out with the the fill Avid will see it an import it with no problems.

Great reply Hector.
I find similar things with FCP over Avid.
What I also find is that most Avid editors I know have come from the old school linear suites etc and have been educated from the beginning about session management. When moving into the non-linear world they carried these work practices with them. Because the buy-in price for AVID used to be so high, only ‘high end’ facilities could afford to set up Avid suites. FCP, on the other hand, has always been cost effective which allows anyone to buy in, regardless of their training or experience levels. Some of them understand managment, most don’t. I see it a lot. It’s very frustrating.
That’s just an opinion, though. But one that’s been formed after editing on Avid for 16 years and FCP for the last 3 or 4.
