Okay Josh, so I hope you could attach a simplified file of the problem so we can make sure we’re on the same page and work towards a practical solution instead of suggesting theories with uncertain results.

    Hi Josh,

If you’re using 2024 version, there may be some bugs in the take system. If you could, try to open the file on another version to confirm (I’m using 2024 as well). This may depend on the nature of your scene, but you may be able to work around the issue by saving the take as a separate file, or by duplicating the light, then going to the rest of the take and using the “Remove from Current Take” command so that the new light remains in the wanted take only.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi Eric,

If the FPS is 7, it is normal for the viewport to remain slow, make it 25 or 30 and try again.

August 5, 2025 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Voronoi within Voronoi Caching…

    Hi Josh,

The reason might be the interference between the field effects and tools such as the voronoi so that it does not appear when displaying, but the cache reveals it. I tried to fix the file as it is, but I noticed that when I put the rigid on the voronoi below, or when changing the MoGraph weightmap location or deleting it, the cache works fine. However, you could always overcome such problems the problem by using Bake as Alembic. I used that and it worked, as in the screen recording below.

Thank you Mads for enriching the discussion, I was looking forward to hearing from you, I completely agree with you in your description of the category of customers who think that AI is an alternative to designers.

My answer was as a 3D designer and not as a C4D user, and the issue of comparing C4D with other open source programs, especially Blender, the closest competitor, has been discussed before here and on many forums, and perhaps the only agreed upon flaw is that C4D is paid and some bad experiences with the support team. As for your advice about learning the other programs and using AI tools in a way that keeps the designer always the owner of the idea, I completely agree with you on this.

    You’re welcome, James!

“YOU WON’T BE REPLACED BY AI, BUT BY DESIGNERS WHO MASTER ITS TOOLS”

Perhaps this quote sums up the topic. It is still worth learning 3D design and using its programs, but the designer only has to incorporate artificial intelligence tools into the workflow to keep pace with the market.

    Hi Duran,

You’re absolutely right you could do the same thing on Cinema 4D using a Controller so that when you move the cursor it changes from one texture to another like in a tutorial, it seems to me you have everything you need to do that.

Thanks Andrew for the clarification, It’s hard to say if this will work without any problems, especially if you’re someone who cares about fine details or if your project requires close observation of movements with the camera zoomed in. However, you may have to give it a try to see for yourself.

    I hope this helps.

    July 30, 2025 at 10:06 am in reply to: C4D & AI

    Hi James,

This might require someone more knowledgeable or specialized in AI, but from my experience, I believe that AI has had a significant impact on clients who are only interested in converting an idea into a 2D or 3D image or even a short video. However, those who have clearly defined professional projects that require precision in execution, especially those who need source files for subsequent modifications according to their requirements, these types of clients still turn to designers working on 3D modeling programs such as Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, and others. However, I hope that someone with good experience in AI will participate to provide us with more useful information on the subject.

    Hi Andrew,

If you mean importing the character with animation from DAZ, I don’t think that’s possible even with the paid plugins available on the internet its developers are talking only about providing transfer of rigged characters, including their geometry, textures.
