The Sony DSR-1500 has a RS-422 port. You can insert with RS-422. Just get a cable and a serial port adapter and you’re in business.

Place Four “dots” in each corner of the raster for the blurred layer. Reduce the Opacity to Zero. This will force the layer to blur to the edges.

Make sure you are in Safe RT, have rendered at Full Quality and judge only what you see on the video monitor, not the Canvas in the Computer monitor.

You really should monitor video to video monitor via the DV Deck or Kona Card, not the computer if you want to see your colors in YUV colorspace.

Yeah. It’s possible to shoot in 32 kHz, and that might explain your audio problem. You can change your sequence settings to match this frequency, fortunately.

IIRC, in FCP 5 the clip settings tab has an audio preview button, so no need to change capture presets.Kevin Monahan
