Any NVIDIA or AMD GPU with over 1 GB VRAM should enable Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration.

Yes and yes. We fixed Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.0) so that CUDA could co-exist on systems with Open CL GPUs. Update Premiere Pro, and this issue goes away. Until then, you should not have CUDA installed for Premiere Pro to run smoothly.

Keep in mind that when you update to 8.0 or later, you must be running on OS X 10.8 or later.

I’ve never heard of a post-production company sponsoring a foreign national for H1-B status. It’s hard enough for Americans to stay employed in an industry in severe decline.

Hi,

Try the following:

• Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
• Update any GPU drivers
• Trash preferences
• Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
• Delete media cache
• Remove plug-ins
• If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
• Repair permissions
• In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
• Create a new user account with Admin privileges and then launch Premiere Pro from there.
• Disconnect any third party hardware
• Reboot
