Potential for video editors who are non-US citizens getting hired in America ? No way ?
What are the odds that a post-production studio / creative agency will be willing to sponsor a non-US citizen for the role of an assistant editor or production assistant ?
Very unlikely ?
The host company usually has to file the H1B visa for the applicant stating why they had to hire an immigrant instead of an American citizen.
Just curious.
I just finished a video editing course here, but though I know my chances of getting a job in US as an editor is literally impossible,since many US editors are unemployed, yet I’m just planning to give it my best shot before heading back home. -

I’ve never heard of a post-production company sponsoring a foreign national for H1-B status. It’s hard enough for Americans to stay employed in an industry in severe decline.Where the jobs aren’t: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/pf_article_112946.html
If you want to get status, you can always become an American citizen. Just apply for the lottery. You never know, you might get selected.
