How long is the whole show and the two segment seperatly? How big are the rendered DVDA mpg2 files? You can only put about 4.7 GB on each DVD, otherwise you have to compress.
As to why you get stuck at 91%, I do not know, but you may experiment by eliminating some segments in the credit section.

I routinly make DVDs from the Canon HG10, AVCHD with no problems.

Set Project “NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480)” (not HD). Render MPG2 to “DVD architact NTSC widescreen video stream” and that should do it.
I routinely use those setting for editing AVCHD and M2t footage and producing widesreen DVDs.

Get a QUAD core and Vegas Pro 8c and you can edit even the kitchen sink. (AVCHD, M2t etc). JK

  • On the left of the track near this (!) there is an audio mute botton. Click and will mute the track. JK

Your computer is fast enough for AVCHD. I have q6600 quadcore and are routinley edit Canon HG10 AVCHD. BUT you need to upgrade to Vegas 8c. 8c was upgraded to process AVCHD on the fly. I edit from 3 cameras (HG10) and 8c will handle 3 tracks on the time line with quad core computer. When finished editing I render it to MPG2 and make the DVD. The images on DVD look great.

Try to import the last 52 clips in small increments (3-4) into new Projects each. That way you may find an offending clip that screws up the import.

Shot off the video tracks you are not using. Only the edited track and sound track ON when rendering to MPG2.

I you may also check the temperature of your CPU. If the CPU gets too hot the computer shots off (search vegas forum for Core Temp to monitor CPU temp).

Processing AVC takes a lots of CPU power. Do you have quad core?

You can not capture HDV from a DV camera. You may consider the HV20, which is close in specs to the HV30 and may be bought on Ebay for about $550-$600. Then use the HV20 as a playback deck as well since it is cheap. I have the HV20 and like it and use it for cature as well.
