Activity Forums Canon Cameras Cinema Mode?

    If it’s anything like the HV20, you press the “function” button and under “recording mode” scroll left or right with the joystick to select it. Make sure the switch on the side of the camera is on “P” and not “Auto”.

    unfortunately i cannot see anything that says recording mode…

    In camera mode, go: Function, Then P, on the buttom of the screen you will see: P Tv Av FilmSymbol(cinema mode) Person

    Choose FilmSymbol and press Function. You are in.

    this is more of a question add on to this thread.

    What is Cinema mode

    (1) It allows for more film like texture to the look ? what does that mean ?

    (2) How does capturing in cinema mode effect the conversion of the video. Meaning depending on what Quality of capture (I have the Canon Vixia HF-11 camera)
    MXP = 24 Mbps
    FXP = 17 Mbps
    XP+ = 12 Mbps
    SP = 7 Mbps
    to LP = Long Play – 5 Mbps

    Looking at the encoding process and what is the best format for me to ultimately get to

    Best Quality HD web format in flash H.2.64
