December 23, 2011 at 1:44 am in reply to: Vegas 11 render “streaks” at any setting

    I found the problem!
In the “Project Properities” window, one needs to set the “Deinterlace Method” to
“blend Fields” I had the setting at “none”.

I am not sure if vegas 11 opens with “none” as a default or not. I’ll check. But make sure for general work “Blend Fields” is set. JK

May try (in Vegas) rendering it to quick time .mov.
Go to File->Render as->mov->custom->video-> select best setting such as HD 1920×1080

I have had similar problems. My theory is that if you have a weak (or dirty) laser in your BURNER it will burn shallow holes. When you play it in a newer player with a strong laser, it will play it, but an older players with weak laser it will skip.
So, make sure that BURNER is NEWER and may be burn it at a lower speed.

I love the HG10s (great zoom control) or HG20. Writes to Hard drive in AVCHD. With Sony Vegas 8c you can directly put AVCHD on the time line and edit it real time. When done you can render it to any format V8 has (MPG2 for DVD).
If you want tape back up HV30 is good. Sony V8c also edits HDV directly.

I have an HV20 (same as HV30 less some minor improvements) and Sony Vegas Pro8. You should be able to capture on Vegas. Whatch out for these:
When you go File->capture make sure HDV is checked for HDV and DV for DV.
When in capture mode make sure you specify the capture file, otherwise it goes into a default file: For Sony Pro8 it’s
Options->Preferences->Disk Management for DV, and for HDV it’s in the capture window (capture folder). (for HDV the default is C:user).
Do a search your capture may already be in a default folder.

  • As a test I would try to re-import a DVD to an other Hard Drive, using Sony Pro 8c:
    File->Import->DVD Camcorder Disk
I actually imported a 2.7 GB DVD this way.
With this Pro8c will convert the VOB files to MPG2. VOB files are not directly importable to Pro8c.

After import the MPG2 files showed up in Pro8c project bin and on the designated hard drive. Direct import from the hard drive also worked.
    Hope this helps. JK
