  • no you will have to download the latest version of HD STUDIO Plat 11
to use your serial number… sometimes the demo version installs better than the disk.

Are you working with a different variety of files and sizes in you timeline?.avi, mov, mpeg, uncompressed etc? If you were to transcode all of the different formats to a single format such as uncompressed or.mxf. you may be able to recover some of your performance. It may simplify things. This is why Apple wants to encode everything to ProRes when you input into finalcut.

  • You might want to uninstall vegas using something like
REVO UNINSTALLER. Then install the trial vegas 10 pro 64 downloaded from the web site. Register your serial number with this. make sure you have quicktime installed.

Use the blackmagic disk speed test to check the speed of your raid array. It may be dropping frames for uncompressed hd. You may need to try using the blackmagic mjpeg codec instead of uncompressed.

There are a couple of Final Cut codecs that do not work on the PC.
One is FINAL CUT HDV.. the other is APPLE INTERMEDIATE CODEC. You will find alot of people that are not cross platform aware handing these files off to be used on a PC… PRORES HQ would be my first choice for going from a mac to a pc.

When he is singing he is using pitch correction on his vocals… this causes the notes to “jump” directly to the correct note instead of slide or be slightly off… check out ANTARES software (autotune). This is what everyone is using..especially if they can’t sing that well.

I am just guessing at this but if he gave you is an APPLE HDV file.. That is proprietary to the mac and you cannot play an apple hdv file on a pc….
