I would usually make a pass to deinterlace the file first. Just use uncompressed and preferably adaptive deinterlacing. The second pass would be the size and frame rate. Depending on the horizontal motion you can play with the frame blending.Doing a conversion with deinterlacing, frame rate change and size change all at the same time usually results in an inferior product. Hardware will always do a better job than software so if you know someone with a dedicated converter try them. When ever I create PAL dvd’s or blurays I always give the clients both an NTSC and a PAL version and let the clients decide what works the best.

I have had pretty good luck with Premiere Pro CS6 but using audio filters in the mixer section will usually crash my version of Premiere.

Sounds like you need to de-interlace the logo sequence before you put it in the timeline. If you are on a mac you could do it in compressor OR put a gaussian blur on the logo animation in the timeline. Set it for Blur Dimensions for Vertical and start out the Blurriness at about 0.6 and increase it slightly until it improves. This will only create a blend deinterlace and not an adaptive de-interlace but should make it look better than it was. This will not compensate for frame blending.

another advantage of ProRes from Mac to Pc is that you are not locked into standard frame rates and sizes like you are in AVID DNXHD. So if you are doing a banner for a stadium etc. Prores works well.. But AVID DNXHD is truly cross platform mac to pc and pc to mac.

Yes ProRes, Prores HQ or Avid DNXHD are the best choices.. Many people are not even using Prores HQ anymore and are just transfering files at the standard ProRes. Going from PC to mac I usually give them AVID DNXHD or if they insist .mov H264 at about 22mbts.(22000k)

The mac xdcam codec .mov are for Mac only. Just like mac HDV and Mac
Intermediate codec. You cannot use them on a pc at all.

My work around was to create a disc image and then burn that to a bluray with ImbBurn.

No matter how many times the NewBlue Title Pro crashes(and that is quite often).I can see the huge potential in the program.. Especially since it is not only available for other editing systems but also cross platform… I am going to stick out the crashes until it is more stable. The benefits and price greatly outweigh the crashes…
