It’s not exactly a plugin but Axio does it.

Steven,
do you have any names of these conversion programs? this is very critical for us as I have a new Axio system and am doing a lot of online for FCP people.
I have found out in the last few days that either PPro or Axio reverses the fields in a QT DV file from FCP. You have to reverse field order on the clips in PPro to make it work. this is after opening the qt files in a 720×486 8bit uncompressed Axio project.
Very frustrating!!!Ken Adolph

From my understanding of DV the timecode is only drop-frame and cannot be set to non-drop-frame. So your non-drop setting in the camera may mean something else. You also could have a TC break on the tape that is causing the capture abort.
You could also just capture the complete tape by hitting record in PPro and then pushing play on the camera.
Non-drop TC is the biggest curse that could ever have been invented in the video world!!!!Ken Adolph

I have this list beside my keyboard. But the best investment I made was to buy a Bella keyboard with the shuttle and jog wheel.
It is invaluable!!!Ken Adolph

1 – Ppro 1.5 is very stable
2 – I am assuming that you are referring to 23.98 not 24fps. This is actually 29.97 because it includes the pull down so it will play on a TV
3 – Upgrading to 1.5 will be the best move you made.
4 – there are a number of ways to do this depending on your budget. I use a Canopus ADVC100 with a widescreen 7″ LCD monitor for editing on my laptop at home or at the lake. I also have a couple of SD-Connect boxes at work which work just fine. Firewire-camera-TV is the way most people do it.Ken Adolph

I don’t have an answer to your question but I have a question. Why would you want to do this?

I moved to PPro from Speed Razor. Speed Razor had a lot of problems however I stuck it out for over 8 years. It is definately the best editing interface ever designed but it couldn’t keep up with the modern stuff and died.
The ability to hold down the shift key and drag a copy to another track is something that I miss a lot.
PPro is missing a number of Pro abilities but I am gambling that it will correct itself because I just purchased an HD-Axio and am already waiting for PPro2 even though I haven’t taken delivery yet.Ken Adolph

The cards should be released next week. That is the info i am getting from my supplier. The digisuite discount is supposed to be 90 days from release date. I just sent a scan of my DS to my supplier yesterday so they can see the serial number.
I should have the system in 2 weeks!! (crossed fingers)Ken Adolph

I do this all the time as I take my projects to different computers. Just make the drive letter the same on all machines. The only problem, as you say, with changing drive letters is the questions. However, if you don’t want to change the letter, once you point PPro to one directory it will find all other files that are in that directory.

thanks, this works but it is very difficult to position the circle when you have to do it in the matte sequence and you can’t see the underlying video. I guess I’ll have to go to AE but i thought that this simple effect could be done on the timeline in PPro
