    Hi,

is there no possibility for “Secondary Color Correction” in APP? How can I make a correction for a specific color-area in a clip?

    regards
    Uwe

1.A crude method might involve duplicating the clip and put it on V2 over the original on V1, apply the correction to V2 and then apply a 8 or 16 point garbage matte to V2 and use it to make transparent area of V2.

2.A track matte key is a bit more elegant but requires a lot more work.

3.Most elegant would be using method 1 but in After Effects with a feathered mask to key out parts of track 1 and apply effects to track 1. Much easier to keyframe mask properties than in Pro.

You need the Color Finesse Plug in for AE or PP. ( I think they do it for PremPro but definitely for AE) – I know of no other CC plug in for Adobe products that has secondaries.

It’s not exactly a plugin but Axio does it.

The Color Finesse plugin (Premiere version) is definitely what you want. There is no other way… It’s expensive (comes bundled free with AfterEffects, but won’t work in Premiere Pro). This is without doubt the best Premiere plugin. I wouldn’t even consider editing with Premiere Pro without this little gem.

Yes, Color Finesse seems really to be the best. I worked with the trial…great. Thanks all for your support.

Jon – a question about the Prem version. ( I only have and use the AE vers currently).

Can the clip be “scrubbed” or run in the Prem Version during CC ? The AE version previews / works on a single frame which I find very limiting.

Yes, you can scrub it. If you have a Pentium4 at 3 or higher, it should be fine.

Jon – I downloaded the trial for PremPro and still can see no way how one would scroll or run the clip while C.C ing. In fact the interface is identical to the AE plug-in that I already use.

I am (just) ok with that in AE but in PremPro it is a function seriously lacking and will stop me from purchasing it. (…and I really want secondary CC). I do not understand how one is supposed to grade a clip based on a single frame without the ability to see the affect over the rest of the clip ( scene).
