Can Premier capture DV with non-drop frame timecode? We have a JVC GYDV5000 that was set to non-drop frame timecode. I’m having trouble with capturing it. I’ve tried capturing the “whole tape” and “in/out” It will capture a few clips then give an error saying the in point can’t be found or it plays in reverse to the beginning of the tape. I’ve tried setting the Device settings to both Generic NTSD Non-drop Frame and to JVC NTSC Non-drop frame with no luck.

From my understanding of DV the timecode is only drop-frame and cannot be set to non-drop-frame. So your non-drop setting in the camera may mean something else. You also could have a TC break on the tape that is causing the capture abort.
You could also just capture the complete tape by hitting record in PPro and then pushing play on the camera.
Non-drop TC is the biggest curse that could ever have been invented in the video world!!!!

I agree, it’s been quite a pain. I’ve already set all our machines to record drop frame timecode.
