Check to see if color space of Illustrator file was cmyk.

You can place .ai files now so it’s just as kosher to place an illustrator file as it is an eps.

You can’t really convert it to a pure ID.. you can import it of course and then create a new pdf to the specs.

I haven’t used CS4 so I’m not sure if there is a plug-in or new option but of course it would matter if the old pdf was created correctly rather than being totally rasterized or exported from Photoshop as a Photoshop PDF. You would have to be able to extract text and images.

On the other other hand, you can just export text and images from the pdf in Acrobat and then rebuild the layout in InDesign.

I’ll have to see if I can replicate this. Are you reading in copy from some external source? If so, can you can simply search and replace that character with a character space or thin space?

hmmm… not to hijack, but After Effects played a huge part in the beginning..maybe they’ve switched?

Seems C4d would take much longer in production just due to rendering but maybe that’s a cool idea!

I guess you’ve checked to make sure Hierarchicals is checked in the attributes manager on the Extrude?

I have CS3 and I always save as an Illustrator 8.0 file or something an Illus 8 eps.

I had this a couple of times with CS2, never w/CS3.

Trash the preferences. Unless you used an un-installer, the old preferences were still there even when you re-installed.

I always just search for any files with com.adobe and then look them over in the finder to see if they are ones to trash.

I don’t think you can actually move the point along the path. What you can do is to use the pen tool with the + symbol. click where you want the new point to be and then use the pen with the – symbol to remove the original point.

Maybe someone knows something else but I’ve never heard of moving a point along a path (spline)…for the app to dynamically calculate the math for such an operation would seem a little processor intensive?!
