If you’ve actually used a stroke and then ‘dashed’ it by entering pts for the gap and dash, then make sure you first (select the dashed line) check under the Object and then Flatten Transparency. Make sure the “Convert All Strokes to Outlines” is checked. Then, Expand those lines. What you’re doing is creating individual boxes which then will work with the pathfinder options.

Open the PDF in Photoshop and rasterize it. Save either as a Photoshop PDF or a TIFF file with LZW compression.

    8.1? Hmm… that’s pretty old for a Mac system.

Either way, he should be able to read it then. I don’t remember what the ‘latest’ version of Reader was that worked on system 8.

However, know that if it needs to be a quality pdf file, then better settings will have to be used.

If you’re on XP, try embedding postscript fonts instead of TrueType. Mac didn’t play well with TrueType fonts until sys 9.2. ..in terms of fairly stable. That might be his problem.

Check your color settings in PS, specifically the RGB settings.

The best way to see color in PS as you will in GoLive and the web is to use the Save For Web option. That will show you the right colors.

Even when specifying the RGB or HEX numbers in PS, hundreds of more subtle colors available within Photoshop.

Saving for web eliminates the range of the ‘normal’ PS color/moniter space.

wow, on the one hand…considering the people here we can fill in quite a few blanks, but on the other… do you mean from Illustrator or Photoshop? Though most do not refer to a photoshop file as a ‘page’ many do not from Illustrator as well…rather an illustration.

Either way, File then Save As.

That’s a basic even in the ‘dark side’ of Windows….

Acrobat is only needed for editing and sophisticated creation of multi-media/interactivity.

    The Reader is free.
