Boy, Zach, you sound exactly like me! SVP since 2011, and now with VP20.

It’s “stable enough” for the most part, but I’m curious about VP23 as well.

If I cut out a section of audio with steady background noise (equipment fans) and then butt the remaining ends together, Vegas does a one-frame audio dip to 0dB on the tail of the outgoing event and on the head of the incoming event. So, when I butt them together I have to then manually undo the dips.

I’m on VP 20, and it’s been working just fine. Edited all day yesterday, no problems.

Went to open the .VEG today and it took about ten minutes to load, and told me there was some error with one of my MTS video files.

For some reason, my Vegas 20 doesn’t want to auto-ripple more than one track.

Is there a setting somewhere I’ve missed that tells it to apply to all tracks?

I have a new Windows11 system, built to specs for VegasPro 20.

I don’t know enough about hardware stuff to feel confident in where I go in “Options” or “Preferences” to select my sound card so I can hear audio, and I don’t want to screw anything up just poking around and guessing. I see meters in Vegas but don’t hear anything (yet).

Thank you for this info. And, I made a semi-happy discovery by accident… it turns out that the audio glitch only occurred when I played the clip through Vegas, but it was fine with a media player through the Windows file system.

That’s what I thought you meant, but I’ve been doing that since forever.

Just to be clear, all audio ends about five frames before the end of the spot, and no matter what I do I get the glitch at the end.

What do you mean by separating the image/audio? They’re separate tracks.

If I’m understanding you correctly (and I may be wrong, but) I think if you select all your points and do a right-click you should see an option for “modify only” or something, which should then let you move them.

An edit to my original post: I think the tool only plays nice with MP3 or WAV files. Every version of Vegas I’ve had has never played nice with WAV files, so I always use AIFF files. I remember now that the AI tool didn’t like AIFF, so I used MP3. But, those are PLENTY good enough to get you out of a tough spot like I had.

I thought I asked this earlier, but not sure. I’m on VP20 and the Track Motion button is gone. I know I can right-click on a track and “More > Track Motion”, but there used to be an icon right on the track.

Is there a way to restore it?

But, the only thing that comes to mind to tell you is that, if you want to edit in Vegas, maybe do your color grading in Premiere and re-output the results into Vegas.

Loralyn… what you describe sounds suspiciously like you DO (“might”) have a keyframe in your Track Motion timeline after all. At time 0:00 everything’s at 0x-0y-0z, and if you made your position with the picture-in-picture anywhere else but at 0:00, the track motion will definitely want to be moving from the 0-0-0 position at 0:00 to wherever…

Gary, I know you have a concern about stacking seven camera clips synced together, but I don’t think it would necessarily be the nightmare you’re concerned about, as long as you’re careful.

I think just pay attention to making sure you have all tracks selected when you make the cuts, and keep an eagle eye on the post-ripple select/deselect.

By the way, I sure wish somebody there would put five minutes into a splash screen. What it is now looks like some kind of bootlegger did it. Zero pizzaz, and not even a mention of Magix.

I should have asked this a long time ago, but on long recordings I’m aware that the C-100 has to break them up into individual 12(?)-minute-long clips. I consistently get about a two or three-frame gap between the end of one clip and the start of the next. I got hosed several times on my latest recording with parts of words missing.

I’m looking for a single movie file, not a bunch of individual frames. I just did another AVI render and Vegas wouldn’t take it. I don’t get it.

I need to output animations from Fusion 9 with embedded alpha channel, but I see no options (anymore?) to do that in the saver except with uncompressed AVI, which seems very surprising to me. What the heck happened with outputting MOV with “save alpha” checked? Is anyone else using Fusion who could enlighten me about other possible options?

Well, I finally found that an uncompressed AVI file can do it (where it loads correctly in Vegas Pro 20, but it’s hard for me to believe that’s my only solution (as long as it continues working)?

I just got Fusion 9 and I’m not finding any options in MOV rendering to include alpha channel with the output. Where is it now? Or, is there a new preferred filetype or render method to include alpha?

I’m used to minimizing Vegas and opening a new instance of it to cut material from one timeline in one instance to a different timeline in another instance.

Now, if I minimize the first instance I can’t see a way to open a new one. Is there a different way now to cut and paste from one timeline to another?
