Audio end glitch (MADDENING)
Posted by Kelly Griffin on May 17, 2025 at 3:35 amI have a 30-second spot due Monday. Everything is perfect, except at the very end, no matter WHAT I’ve tried, I get an audio glitch (see picture). I have tried cutting the audio off after sound stops, I’ve tried leaving it on and dipping to 0dB with a volume envelope, I’ve tried converting the audio files to different filetypes. NOTHING gets rid of it. Has anyone run into anything similar before?

May 17, 2025 at 10:45 amTry separating the image/audio, then select the audio and simply cut it off at the end and smooth out the end.

May 17, 2025 at 4:13 pmWhat do you mean by separating the image/audio? They’re separate tracks.

May 17, 2025 at 8:06 pmSelect the video track how is bounded with the soundtrack.
Ungroup them so you can edit them separately using “Control+U”
Now you can cut, move, fade etc. only the selected soundtrack without affecting the videotrack. The same goes for video tracks.
Hopefully, you can remove that strange sound in the end. 👍

May 17, 2025 at 8:15 pmThat’s what I thought you meant, but I’ve been doing that since forever.
Just to be clear, all audio ends about five frames before the end of the spot, and no matter what I do I get the glitch at the end.

May 17, 2025 at 8:39 pmOops, that sounds super weird and annoying for you.
Do you have a paid license and an updated computer?
I understand you’ve checked everything, so the only thing I can think of is to do a clean installation, not so fun but the only thing I can come up with.
Check all the drivers, but you probably already did that too. I’ve had Vegas since version 6 and using 22 now and I have never heard of anything like this, very strange.
Avoid using “cleaners” they often mess up everything. I use Revo Uninstaller to be sure there are no leftovers in the system, included uninstaller often does a poor job.
Sorry I can’t help you, but I wish you good luck, so everything works nice again.👍

May 22, 2025 at 1:42 amHi Kelly
Just reading your thread today.
The same problem has been reported on the official VEGAS Pro forum. Apparently it’s a bug that only affects some people. So there is some type of weird combination of things that causes it. I have never experienced this bug.
https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/super-loud-blip-sound-on-clip-start-end-on-occasion–141617/?page=1Which exact version of VEGAS Pro are you using?
Which build version do you have installed?
Open Vegas and go to Help / About to find this info.
At the end of the thread I linked above, it is suggested the bug was fixed from VEGAS Pro 21, Build #187 onwards.Regards

June 5, 2025 at 8:40 pmThank you for this info. And, I made a semi-happy discovery by accident… it turns out that the audio glitch only occurred when I played the clip through Vegas, but it was fine with a media player through the Windows file system.
Weirdness.
