Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution better than converting them beforehand. It’s a pain, but Vegas unfortunately has it’s limits with video encoders.

That is a completely valid question. This looks perfect! Just make sure to click “no” to matching the project settings to the clips you import. That would backtrack what you did with the project settings.

Is the border added as an image in it’s own track? If so, you need to go to Crop/Pan tool and uncheck “maintain aspect ratio”. That will enable so you can shape the border on top of just making it smaller. Then you can just ajust every side if the rectangle seperatly until it fits the photo. I hope this helps.

Right click on the vegas shortcut. Go to properties then compatibility.

Of course! You can do so by adding a media scene, then choosing the desired path for your video. Just make sure to insert the mp4 then move that layer on top of everything else (just like in Vegas)

There is a lot more you can do with OBS. Definitely a useful tool for recording!

Can you try a test render just to see if the mask appears correctly on the final video? Sometimes the preview will glitch like that.

Have you been working on Track Motion, too? If you have that enabled it might interfere with the position.

Make sure you’re on the “Position Tab”, and the options I circled are checked. After that you can right click and choose “Match output aspect”. Let me know if that worked.

If you would rather change the video resolution instead of the project resolution, you could right click inside the Pan/Crop frame and then select Match Output Aspect.
