Before I render, I noticed two still photos where there is significant red-eye on one of the featured people. Is there a way to reduce the red-eye on a still photo that is already in the project timeline? I attempted to use the “color corrector” FX but I wasn’t sure how to pinpoint the pupil in correcting the red-eye.

Hi Andy! A quick fix for your issue is to create a timeline above the one you’re working on, and copy and paste your clip to the timeline above. Make sure it’s lined up time wise with the part you want to edit. Got to pan/crop tool, and check the box “Mask” on the bottom. Make sure to select the eyes, and then apply the color corrector effect. You can also use “Color corrector secondary” if you want to change the hue.

So essentially what you’re doing is masking the eyes on the top clip, then applying the effect. I hope this helps!

That is a great suggestion. Thank you and I will try that now. Grateful.

Sorry to email you directly, but I thought you may be able to assist me with my last question for this project. I have rendered the project (though I am not going to try and correct the red-eye using your suggestions), but as it is played back in .mp4, there seems to have a redish/blue “hue” around some of the footage. It is slight, but it is not as crisp as the actual footage (both stills and videos) shows in the timeline. It is almost a slight (very slight) 3D type effect on the video around the objects of the video, but it makes it look somewhat “off”. Should I render it differently? I used the standard Magix AVC/AAC MP4 format Internet HD 1080p 29.97 fps. It may simply be that it is lagging in the playback.

    Suggestions?
