Vegas2handbrake issues with windows 11?
Posted by Randal Petryshyn on January 24, 2025 at 7:38 pmHi.
I am still using windows 10, VP12 along with Vegas2Handbrake. I upgraded my computer, loaded windows 11 with VP12 and Vegas2Handbrake. I can not get Vegas2Handbrake to work. I keep getting an error message saying “31 unable to create mount for file “c:\frameserver\vegas.avs”.
Debugmode Frameserver, Avisynth, Pismotec are all loaded and take part in “Vegas2Handbrake”.
I’m not sure which one is throwing the error code. I suspect its not Debugmode because if you use it by itself it seems OK.
PLEASE, any ideas?
Thanks

January 27, 2025 at 2:15 pmHey Randal,
Even though I haven’t used Vegas2handbrake myself, I would be more than happy to try and help you!
Reading through your post, in my eyes this seems like a compatability issue with Windows 11. The first thoughts that came to mind were to make sure that the related executables are running with administrator priveleges. You can also try right clicking on the executables and navigating to properties > compatability to try and find out which of the executables is causing the problem you are having.
Let me know how it goes!

January 27, 2025 at 5:35 pmI agree with what Baskeh said. Windows 11 has stricter rules when it comes to premissions. Running as admin should overwrite that.
Additionally, if that suggestion is not enough to solve your problem you could try reinstalling Avisynth and Frameserver and then configure Vegas2Handbrake again. That ensures that you’re using the latest version which is compatible with Windows 11.
If this still doesn’t work, you could try and find log files so you can see exactly where the problem is occurring. That could give you a clear idea of what to work with.
Good luck!

January 27, 2025 at 9:04 pmHi again,
Thank you for trying! I hoped this would have fixed the problem, but of course it wouldn’t be that easy 😛
If you haven’t tried reinstalling the programs, like Jurgen suggested, I would go ahead and try that first just to make sure you do have the latest versions.
Have you checked if the directory C:\frameserver exists? If not, try manually creating the folder. If the folder does exist, check if anything is being written to that folder. Make sure to make hidden files visible by navigating to View in file explorer.
As I mentioned earlier, you could try to run the executables in compatability mode to see if any of them act up or not.
Good luck, looking forward to your reply again!

January 28, 2025 at 2:37 amHi again
Thanks to both of you for sending me in the right direction. I browsed the event viewer and found an error in a sys file which belongs to Pismo File Mount. It says that the file was incorrectly signed. I booted up and allowed unsigned drivers. Bingo. After monkeying around with permissions and properties, it now works! Thanks to both of you guys.

When using Vegas2Handbrake in win11, be sure to use “PFMAP build 192” found in their archive downloads.
