Read 10+ threads in Adobe forum, and I got know Adobe Premiere now does not support VOB import. A workable way is to change VOB files to Premiere Pro CC compatible format.

Well, the problem is mainly due to that Windows didn’t come with the codecs that were used for those particular .AVI files(AVI is just a wrapper for a large variety of codecs.)… That’s why Sony Vegas Pro won’t open it. So, you can try to download the codec packs to solve the issue. While, sometimes there are viruses masquerading as codec packs floating around (especially on P2P networks), other times the codec packs are buggy, other times they’re fine. And here we recommend you a better solution- changing Bandicam AVI to Sony Vegas Pro more friendly video format like MPG.

I’m editing in Premiere, export EDL or XML to resolve, do the colorcorrection, render one big clip out and place it above my edits in Premiere. If you set the grades to “remote” in resolve then changes are even easier when you export a changed edit again to resolve and the export again a clip with the same filename as the first on.
This way I am always sync between Premiere and Resolve. Of course you can also do a roundtrip by exporting each clip with the same filmename, but I prefer my method.

I have 3 students editing with FCPX 10.1 from GH4 cameras. They love it. Your storage will be the biggest factor. Since you have a Mac Pro, get a pair of 2TB or 4TB Drives in it as your media drives, and you should be OK.

you could adjust iPhone MOV/MP4 to a more editing-friendly format, like MPEG-2 for vegas pro

As we know, Canon can record 4K and 1080p high definition video using MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression and the footage is wrapped in an MXF container. However, MXF format can’t be natively supported by many professional video editing applications including FCP 6, FCP 7 and even the Final Cut Pro X. In addition, it also would be a bit hard to handle 4K video with Final Cut Pro 6/7. That’s reason why so many users are facing troubles when handling Canon MXF files into Final Cut Pro. Well, things can be different if you get some help from third-party software.
