rotoscoping is using masks to create an alpha…
Say if you’ve shot some green screen stuff that you can get a proper key for….so instead of keying the footage…you have to roto it.. meaning use masks to mask out the character and get an alpha channel for the footage.

I’d search more about it on Google.com

I used to be agaisn’t the tablet scene. But then was forced to roto about a 100 shots for my company. about after the 1st shot i switched over to a tablet and found it alot more comfortable.
So it really depends on what you’re doing. If you’re doing repetitive work then def get one. If not…just regular AE stuff then don’t, or do.
I switch back and forth constantly.

    Hello
AE can continously raterize your AI files…so there is not need to make them big. You can just make them small and click the continously raterize button on the timeline for that layer and you can then scale the layer as much as you want. And it will be crisp.
Hope that helps…I know i didn’t answer you question but this is a solution. Just make the artwork inside the artboard then scale in ae.
    I don’t have cs2 so i’m not sure.
search ae help for the continously raterize. Its the button in the switches/modes of the layer on the timeline, looks like a 8 sided star or somin.

previewing time remapping works fine for me. AE 6.5pro

and about the clip from premiere…why not just render it out how you want it.
It won’t be able to copy it to ae because its just a mirror on the timeline…I believe so anyway. Sorry I couldn’t help more then that

well…you could just save the project as an increment and delete everything you don’t need and just leave the one comp that you need
    then import that project

June 30, 2005 at 10:25 am in reply to: After Effects Playback speed issue

Because After Effects plays back the footage using RAM…where as Windows media players uses your video card, I believe….
anyway you must do a RAM preview in after effects before you can watch the footage at realtime.
the ram preview button is located next to the play and stop buttons, looks like a play button but with two areos behind it…
or just search the help menu for Ram preview.
I can’t give a better explanation cause i’m nowhere near AE right now
