OK I just got Illustrator CS2. I usually create ellements bigger than the artboard, so i could bring the layer size in after effects, but with the new cs2 when I choose import comp, layer size. It brings the object at the right size, but it color stops at my original artboard size in illustrator. I dont know why its doing this. I know CS1 doesn’t do this, it brings anything bigger and keeps the color and shape. any ideas on what I can do? If anyone has cs2 please try to create a circle bigger than the artboard in illustartor and try importing it in AE using the layer size and you will see what I mean. I trying making the crop marks bigger but I only see what is in the artboard only. Please help anyone. Thank You

    Hello
AE can continously raterize your AI files…so there is not need to make them big. You can just make them small and click the continously raterize button on the timeline for that layer and you can then scale the layer as much as you want. And it will be crisp.
Hope that helps…I know i didn’t answer you question but this is a solution. Just make the artwork inside the artboard then scale in ae.
    I don’t have cs2 so i’m not sure.
search ae help for the continously raterize. Its the button in the switches/modes of the layer on the timeline, looks like a 8 sided star or somin.
