  • Import/Export comp in AFX

    Hi everybody

Is there any way to export a single composition from an AFX project? or maybe to import a single comp from one project to another? I always have to import the entire project and I end with huge projects.

well…you could just save the project as an increment and delete everything you don’t need and just leave the one comp that you need
    then import that project

Simply hilight the comp in the Project window and select ‘reduce’ project from the file dropdown. This will eliminate ALL elements and comps NOT associated with the selected comp.

Save and import into your other project. If any identical footage is used, then select ‘consolidate footage’ to eliminate redundancy.

Firstly, do a ‘remove unused footage’ to get rid of everything you are not using. then, open the comp you want to keep and do a ‘reduce project.’

remember to do a ‘save as’ immediatley afterwards so you dont save over your original project.

Drag all your ‘possible’ keeper elements you are unsure about into a comp. Then highlight both the comp you want AND the ‘storage comp’…..then proceed as above……this will allow you to keep your ‘might use’ pieces….
