Make sure you check your audio settings (it should match your source materiel – for DV you should have it set to 48khz, but check your camera and see what its set at). Sorry to state the obvious, but make sure your speakers are up, the master volume on your PC is up, check the audio level within the Avid…

There is also a box to check in the media creation setting that says ‘allow capture of files larger than 2gb’, or something like that.

How old? I doubt you’ll get you footage into a Meridian based system.
However I have successfully offlined on an XPress (5.2) and brought the project into a Meridian system (12.0) and re-digitized the tapes.
You can get there, but it may not be path you wanted to take…

Did you download the manual for Media Log? If it can use firewire (I’m guessing it can’t) it should have instructions there…

You don’t say what version media log, but I’m guessing it won’t read FW – can you control the deck at all when you have it hooked up via firewire?
The last version of media log I remember seeing was 11.0 back abound 2000.

I know if you register with Avid (you’ll need to provide your system ID) you can access the download area for Avid. I’m sure you can find a PC version there.

I havent’ had the pleasure of shooting editcam. When Avid was using AVR’s I recall 77 was the highest, 72 was something close to 2:1. I don’t know if Ikegami has patterned thier resolutions after the old Avid resolution, but I would think 70 is close to DV50…

I don’t know anything about editcam, but I’m thinking it’s kind of like P2 – you have to drag your footage into your storage drives, and open them from there (using the media tool).
