    Okay, here it goes….(2 Questions)

FIRST QUESTION – Everyone I’ve already spoke to seems to think it will work, but I am freakin’ about this situation. Here it is…

I have an Ikegami DNS 201W (EditcamII) It uses the Fieldpak (removable harddrive). This Fieldpak (harddrive)connects to what looks like an 8-track tape gizmo from NLtek.com. This gizmo is called the SAT-110. From the SAT-110 connects your USB or Firewire. The USB/Firewire obviously connects to my certified AVID iMac desktop.

    ….almost there….

My iMac has all of the qualified components AVID requires. This is not a question. Here it goes….

When I connect the USB or Firewire from the SAT-110 (where my picture is) wouldn’t AVID MC software that I have capture the picture and allow me to edit? NOTE: I don’t have the software yet but everyone is saying, “Why wouldn’t work if the iMac is certified and the SAT-110 utilizes a USB/Firewire that reads AVR 70BH, AVR75 and JFIF files?”

What do you all think? Can someone PLEASE HELP?!

SECOND QUESTION: For a wedding (and I like to have highest compression), has anyone shot in AV 70BH? And what does it look like?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

I don’t know anything about editcam, but I’m thinking it’s kind of like P2 – you have to drag your footage into your storage drives, and open them from there (using the media tool).

    Jon,

    Thanks for the answer.

Have you ever shot in AVR 70BH? And what was the picture like?

    Thanks,

I havent’ had the pleasure of shooting editcam. When Avid was using AVR’s I recall 77 was the highest, 72 was something close to 2:1. I don’t know if Ikegami has patterned thier resolutions after the old Avid resolution, but I would think 70 is close to DV50…

    I found this site:

    https://editcam.ikegami.com/index.php/

You might find some useful info there!
