Yes, it’s safe to delete that file. If you back out one level, there should be a folder called settings, and the MCState file should be in there…

Have you deleted your MCState file? You might try creating new user settings as well.
Does your system meets specs? Things like OS, RAM, video card, etc?

You could take the shot just previous to the 7 frames of black, slow mo say, 90% (not really enough to notice, but enough to give you an extra 7 frames…), then overwrite the last shot with the slo-mo’d shot.

So you can’t cut the audio track as well?
Is it a transition (meaning does it cut to another shot after the 7 frames of black)?

If you mean the text on the actual windows, go to (I think, I’m not in front of an Avid right now…) Edit/font. Somewhere in there is a way to change the font and size only within Avid. As a more global way to change, right click on the desktop, select settings and go to (I think – I’m on Vista at home and it’s totally different than XP) the settings tab. Somewhere there is the setting to make the window fonts larger.

Have you gone to tools set>save settings (I think thats where it is – I’m not in front of the Avid at the moment)? You might try deleting the MCState (C:/Program Files/Avid/Avid Xpress/Settings).

Latest QT version supported is 7.2 – I would think if you rolled back to 6.5, you should be fine.
There should be a readme file in the Avid folder on your hard drive. Check there to make sure.

I geuss I don’t understand – if you have a QT, you have a source file. The Avid uses the QT to create a new file… If you move your QT files, you’ll still have the media Avid uses to play the sequence.
