If your media is not NTSC you’re facing some issues here. you’ll have to do some converting which is not the best done with software. You van import you’re old project to a new NTSC project in cs3

Don’t deinterlace for the DVD/TV viewing that’s meant to be there for TV only deinterlace for web!

What is your graphics card? Is it using the correct drivers?
The Cache may need to be cleaned out and rebuilt for a CS3 project to run correctly in CS4. It’s recommended that software/hardware upgrades aren’t done in the middle of a project.

If they are using CS3 or CS4 After Effects then the MXF files should come in without any extra plugins. But I need to point out that AE is not an editing App it’s a compositing and motion graphics app so I wouldn’t suggest anyone tried to actually edit with it as there is no realtime playback without a ram preview. If they have Prem CS3 or CS4 then that would be the way to go for an edit. Then AE for graphics, grading, compositing.

It only helps if you export to the same format you’ve rendered in (timeline) and you tick the hidden option to use preview files. Otherwise you just export the edit and don’t worry about the rendering first.

Sounds like a recapture is in order. The zebra lines indicate the file is missing data where it thinks there should be and once was.

Sounds like the file is corrupted in some way so the render holds the frame when it hits the problem sector of the file. Making the file offline, saving then closing ppro, reopening ppro then delinking the file can sometimes fix a poor indexing cache. But let it index and conform before you use start editing again.

Sorry my friend, but the workflow has changed. It’s much like Avid now. It was always very similar to Avid, but yes CS3 and CS4 have a new workflow. You can override the need to highlight all tracks by using the next/previous edit buttons in the controls section on the program monitor that will jump to all edit point regardless of highlighted tracks.
It’s a new system, but it’s grown on me and in some ways I find it better than the old way.

I just did a test with my laptop and CS4 Master Collection and it worked as expected. I exported to MPEG-2 DVD and the Color Finesse Changes came through. Are you sure you’ve added the Serial number to run CF properly. It will appear to be working with the interface, but won’t work until you apply the serial number which comes with the CS4 box.
