Hi Dave,
in cs4 you can perform a deinterlaced export by selecting progressive field options. Try this vs deinterlacing each clip. There is no setting to apply deinterlacing across all clips.

I can guarantee you that your camera is not recording uncompressed. The file will be using some kind of compression and the codec for it has become corrupt. Look up a converter for the model camera you shoot with. I don’t know what your camera’s codec is, but it’s not uncompressed.

Mp3 is the problem here. If you export each mp3 song by itself to a 48k wav or aiff file you can literally replace the mp3 files by selecting them on the project panel and right click ‘unlink’ – don’t delete them. Then relink them rot the wav files. The edit will now be using the wav file audio instead the known problematic mp3 files. Whallah!

The preference only works from that point onwards with media you add toy the timeline. You can do a Select all in the timeline and right click one of them to select scale to frame. All selected clips will adopt that function.

CS4 adopted a new aspect ratio that supposedly meant that pal was always incorrect in a 16×9 interpret so cs2 is correct for cs2 cs4 square pixel is not 1024×576 it’s now 1050×576. This was pressured in by the almighty BBC in England to correct the technical aspect ratio to accomodate true pal tv. Blah blah it’S such a pain but you’re aren’t going crazy.

You need FCP to export ProRes so a PC can’t export to it. Cineform have a converted avi workflow with HDV and heaps of other formats. Take a look.

H.264 @ 1200kbps. Not sure if 1.5 can do H.264. Then there is the frame size fps rate. What’s the output for? Web?

Hi Rick. Let’s cool down a little. Are you using a matrox card? This could cause problems. The graphics cards you are using may not run the best with latest drivers. The redraw issues where u can’t see the image in the source or program monitor hints that the Gfx card drivers might not be happy. I think there might be known issues with hdv disk recorded files that ppro ain’t always happy with. Take a look at cineform to concrt the files into avi files. U can get a trial and if it solves problems the cost isn’t that much.
