Steaming video to web
Hello, I am trying to get video footage to stream online.
I have many questions, so purchased the Creative Cow tutorial DVD “Internet Killed the Video Star: A Guide to Creating Video For the Web” by Aharon Rabinowitz.
The DVD has been a big help; nevertheless, I have some specific questions addressing my specific concerns that the DVD does not completely resolve.
The footage I have got is from a Sony camera, they are m2ts files, 1080i, that I am editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
The files are to be streamed as WMV (currently sized 640×360, but that dimension may be reduced).
I will have many followup questions, but in the meantime should start at the beginning:
“1080i” is a HDTV “interlaced” video format, yes?
On the Creative Cow tutorial, Mr. Rabinowitz instructs users as a general rule to “de-interlace” video for the internet, and he recommends doing that in the video-editor rather than video compression software.

The Adobe ‘help’ page gives instructions on how to de-interlace a clip, but not as a preset or batch application.
I am presuming that all my imported 1080i video will be interlaced; and since Premiere Pro is my video-editor, I would like to know if there is a way that I can make a preset or preference so that all of my video imported is de-interlaced. Or is that something I should do afterwards? (Or have I been led astray?)
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dave,
in cs4 you can perform a deinterlaced export by selecting progressive field options. Try this vs deinterlacing each clip. There is no setting to apply deinterlacing across all clips.
