I think it’s your video card driver. I had an older P4 sys with similar spec to yours and it was just too old to run CS4 properly. Had issues with video card. Sold it with older ppro and got anew laptop. Works fine with new gear.

Progressive output is solving an interlacing issue. You have material running opposing field dominance than either the sequence and or the export output.

You haven’t mentioned which version u are working with. Cs4 worked as u said u set it up. Enable record, press record button on bottom of panel, press play and away it went into the enables track.

Upon Render or Export Media, you should be getting a clean export. Without seeing your project it’s hard to tell what’s going on.
Are you sure the MPEG-2 export is using the same field dominance? AE files may be Upper, MPEG-2 export by default is set to Lower. DV seq is default Lower. If there is a conflict with field dominance then you’ll get some horrible results. You can check the field dominance by right clicking the icon for the clips in the project panel and select the interpret footage option, the field dominance will be selected based on the clips metadata. You can change it and do a short export test.
I usually make sure my AE work is progressive, set in the Render Queue’s Export list of a comp select Best Settings, go into it change fields to off.
Premiere Pro has a Quality setting for the source and program monitors if set to Draft or Automatic the quality will get a hit only as you work, High Quality should look as good as the original. Exporting will override the Quality Settings as its only for working playback performance not a true quality hit to the project/media.
Post a screen capture or two might help us see what’s going on with your settings for sequence/media and export settings.

You can lessent the rate of the automatic keyframes upon write mode in audio mixer in the preferences>audio… tick the ‘minimum time interval thinnig’ box and set to somewhere between 100 and 500 for a lot less keyframes, but you can also delete multiple keyframes by using the pen tool and marquee selecting a group of them to delete a large amount of selected keyframes.

Have you tried to roll back QT to a 7.5.x version. I find QT always ruin something with every couple of updates and rolling back a couple of versions work fine.
I’ve Been using win7 and ppro with qt files since RC 7100. I am running with 7.6.4 and haven’t had a problem yet?…Jon Barrie

If it stalls around the same spot, there might be a particular file that’s corrupt and won’t render. Jpg files will create some problems if they are too big. See if you can narrow down an area inthe timeline that might be a corrupted file and unlink those clips without deleting them. Then choose replace to link them again.

I think you’ll find the 24F is embedded in a 60i signal so technically it’s showing 24fps inside a 60i pulldown. Don’t edit in 25 (50i) that’s just wrong and won’t playback the frame rate properly. You should cut it exactly how it’s been shot and if you want it to go to DVD or BluRay then 60i HD would be the safest bet. The 24F is just a look inside a 60i signal and true 24p is really only seen natively for cinema projecting film. Bluray can work with 24p, but what’s shot on film is pulled down to either 50i (25fps) or 60i (30fps) as the two interlaced formats use their own pulldown rate to show the 24p look.

You might need to clear the preferences. When u launch ppro hold a shift button down until the first screen pops up. Do this shift hold to ame and encore on launching them. If this doesn’t work I’d have to say a reinstall of ppro encore and ame.
