Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro recording voice…infuriating!!

    Im just trying to record my voice….

    First off, my mic device is recognized by my computer AND premiere.
    I open premiere
    click the “enable track for recording” button
    click the record button…it flashes
    click play to start recording….
    …no dice….
    i get an error: “you cannot record without selecting at least one track for recording”
    hmmmm… coulda sworn i did that already
    anyone know whats going on, here?!
    geez!!

    You haven’t mentioned which version u are working with. Cs4 worked as u said u set it up. Enable record, press record button on bottom of panel, press play and away it went into the enables track.

    I have the same problem:

    CS 5.5 using premiere pro.
    microphone recognised by my PC.
    clicked ‘record’ button
    clicked ‘play’
    Error message comes up: “You cannot record without enabling at least one track for recording”.

    I must be missing something here. Can some kind soul advise?

    Hi,

    After fiddling around for hours, I found the solution, re-posting just in case some newbie like myself have the same problem.

    You have to exit Premiere Pro and re-start Premiere Pro to have that elusive microphone icon to appear. Apparently if you install the microphone halfway during yr PP session, the microphone icon is missing.
