What kind tape is the video coming from? If it’s DV and not HDV your friend can capture QuickTime DV files and a PC running CS4 should be able to open it fine. If the files are HDV then you’re going to have to jump through some process hoops.
Is ther a reason you can’t capture the tapes yoirself with PPro?

With a clip highlighted in the project panel you can open the rename by hitting return key.

If u hear it in the edit and it’s fine there then you are losing something in the export. Are you working with any audio filters? What are your export settings.

The system is stressing more if u cut in a timeline that is not native to the media.
Having vista 64 or win7 64 might help with memory management and see more ram than XP limit of 2.5 gig.Jon Barrie

Try to zoom all the way out on the timeline. Tap the \ key to zoom out. Double click the work area bar to force it to fit the entire edited length of the timeline. Try to render and/or export.

This is an old post. Which version of ppro are u using. Mostly the error is that the nested timeline has not been multi-cam enabled.
Right click the nested multicam build timeline when in another timeline and select multi-cam > enable, then open the multicam window.Jon Barrie

What you are refering to is known as “Lower Third” or “Super” or “Strap”.
Here is a link to a tutorial I made about lower thirds to get you started.
it’s in PPro CS2 but it still applies to CS3 and CS4.

this might sound silly, but you have got premiere pro cs4 installed…
Cs3 or below won’t open a cs4 project file. You can’t got backwards.

The third party rendering you are revering to is only for H.264 exporting with specific nvidia Gfx cards. Look up cuda.

Hi Alex,
what version of cs4 is it, have you got both ame and ppro saying they are the same version number (4.2 latest).
what files are you working with, what are you trying to export out to and do you have any special tick boxes running in the export settings?
