to import quicktime . mov , mpeg-2 linear PCM into premiere pro CS4
I´m having trouble to import .mov files that were captured by a friend on a MAC plataform (final cut) into my PC plataform machine I´m using Premiere CS4 and he´s using final cut to capture, but when I import the files It says that that´s an unrecognized codec format, so what we´ve been doing is , he´s generating an uncompressed .mov and I´m importing those files, the problem is taht those files are huge I mean, the clips that I´m capturing straight on my computer is like 5gb 1 hour and the files that he´s capturing and editing on his pc also are like the same size. but in order to use his material on my edition bay I have to generate this uncompressed quicktime that goes for likealmost 80GB one tape(1 hour) footage, does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

What kind tape is the video coming from? If it’s DV and not HDV your friend can capture QuickTime DV files and a PC running CS4 should be able to open it fine. If the files are HDV then you’re going to have to jump through some process hoops.
Is ther a reason you can’t capture the tapes yoirself with PPro?

no special reason but he had captured everything already so I don´t want to capture evrything again…
I´m pretty sure he used HDV tapes

I tried demux the mpeg2 out of .mov file using the method described here:
