Select the Sequence Icon in the Project Panel and goto Edit>Duplicate
Rename the duplicated Sequence another version or whatever so you know this is the alternate edit (cut down, FINAL Color Grading etc)

It’s possible that Liquids cross dissolve works more like Premiere’s Additive Dissolve. Try that one out and let us know how it faired.

It appears that the default audio layer type (mono/stereo/5.1 or mono as stereo) is in conflict with your WMV. So it adds a new layer underneath the one’s already there. ie: you have 4 audio layers that are stereo, but the WMV audio is Mono. it will add another mono audio layer underneath the 4 stereo tracks. Check the icon for the type of audio layer it is. That’s probably what’s happening? Keep editing…

I have had moderate success in going backwards using the AAF export from CS3 and then importing it into PPro2. Try that with PPro2 to PPro1.5?

An EDL is an Edit Decision List. It will take each video and audio clip that is used in tracks video 1 and audio tracks 1,2,3,4. The list shows which shot was used in which order at the in/out points of its own timecode for the clip and then it’s timecode position in the whole timeline. It can be done by selecting the timeline you want to export the EDL from either selecting the timeline(sequence) in the project bin or opening the sequence and having the panel highlighted. Then goto File>Export>EDL… not sure of the exact wording in version 7, but File>Export is where you’ll see the EDL export choice.

If you unlink the video and the audio then you can move either of them witout it affecting the other. Meaning the audio can move 1/2 a frame which is about 24000 samples (half of 48Khz) the video won’t shift then if it’s not linked to the audio anymore.

Before you destroy the newest project with the problem I’d make sure the render files are deleted (Sequence>Delete Render Files…Yes)
Then I’d look at the images you have in there. Check that the sizes aren’t over 2000×2000 and that the original is less 300dpi. It won’t matter which format you have them in (JPG, PSD, ETC) video is 72dpi so if you have a picture that’s 2000×2000 with 300dpi it will be looking at the picture as though it is 72dpi which will convert the 300dpi divided by 72dpi = 4.167 times that figure with the image size and your 2000×2000 images it like 8333×8333. That’s way too big and crashes the system. Change any pics you have to 72dpi in Photoshop but untick the resample box so it stays the same size only dpi is affected. Should work properly then.

Use the timecode effect on the video clips. it will read the clips timecode when in timecode source “media” mode.

Check that the settings in the Movie Export>Settings>Keyframe and Rendering don’t have the Deinterlace Video Footage tick. Untick this box! Make sure the DV AVI is that same format as the format you are working in. NTSC/PAL/24P.

Have you been deinterlacing when exporting to AVI? That will remove half your picture lines, making it look shite.
– I hope you haven’t deinterlaced all your footage, because you’ll have to go back and use the original from the camera again.
