    Hello:

I would like to export to DVD, video that displays the timecode of the source video…so the client can let me know what sections of the original footage they want to include. I think this should be very simple to do but in checking a couple of books and forums, I have not come across information on how to do this.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Michael

Use the timecode effect on the video clips. it will read the clips timecode when in timecode source “media” mode.

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

If you want the timeline time code instead of each clip timecode, what I do is lay a top video track that is a transparent video clip (in your bin, right click and create a new Transparent Video).

Then, apply the timecode effect to that track and it should sync up perfectly with your timeline 😉

This thread was a lifesaver!! I rented a JVC 200 and used the included hard disc recorder for a very long day shoot. When I transferred the files to my computer, there were a ton of 9 minute, 13 second clips from the hard drive – and the timecode re-started at zero for each clip!! I could not find a way in CS4 to display timecode that was equal to the timeline. The invisible clip is the answer!! Thanks!!
