  • There might be a way to use AE to import the RT2000 project then export the AE project as a Premiere Pro project, then open that version in CS3. I think it will then recognise the audio is a separate part to the video…

  • I don’t know why this is happening seriously not good.
The same process in PPro2 apply in CS3 nothing has changed regarding adding to the timeline. Better reinstall and hope that works or call Adobe for another copy of the software.

Are you talking about image sequences? where the name and #### number follow on like a string of images that make a video. That is supported by ticking the image sequence box when importing the 1st image. It will then come into PPro as a single clip. And can be treated as such.. slow motion (speed/duration) etc.

I just ran some test through the suite with FCP and PProCS3. Both seem to be import audio exactly the same.
The only thing I can think of is that the audio output mapping is not right? They are found in the Premiere Pro>preferences.
It is odd that your other system is doing it correctly?… Besides a reinstall…. could be the software miscommunicating with your hardware?

Is this title actaully set to roll/crawl?
If so you should see it on screen and have the options set to offscreen for you. that will push all the text off the screen when it is in the timeline as a clip for you.

    Jake,
If you setup your Project through Desktop settings (custom) you will always get the red bar to render. But…
If you set up the Project with the square pixel aspect ratio of 1920×1080 and then have the footage interpreted to be widescreen in its own right then it won’t matter. As the footage will be coming into the timeline as stretched out to the square HD proportions. If you are working with clips that are not FullHD, and HD-2, 1280×720, you’ll need to make sure these clips are selected to fit to scale, in the timeline, right click (tick nest to it).
    – Jon 😉
AE won’t be affected by the native clip size aspect or the FullHD sq.Pixel. Always best to work with the best version, in its original format, or upres and work in bigger colour space like HDV = 4:2:0 color space, AspectHD by cineform converts that into colour space = 4:2:2, better colour grading.

Mpeg as in from DVD or such, will cause issues. Take the audio only from the MPeg sources and render out the audio into a WAV format, but opening the files in the source monitor, then file>export>Audio
Reimport them into PProCS3 and use the replace function you should have no more problems.

May 15, 2008 at 2:49 am in reply to: Multicam question

If you hit enter to render the timeline will render the audio first, then any video that requires rendering. This will let you see the waveform, this is how to see the waveform for nested sequences, as Multi-cam is essentially a variation of nesting…

  • Hi Jiri/Nate,

As a cow leader for the last 8 months or so I’ve got say that we not only get an email about every premiere pro related question, everyone’s responses – we are happy to help, for free with genuine questions or work arounds.
We do get frustrated at times about the bombardment (esp lately) of questions where the “help” in the program will give your answer, a quick search on the net, or even reading the book, provided the people asking question actually have legitimate versions of software.
