Yeah. I hate those things. Wish it were a preference, because we never use them. I’ve gotten in the habit of putting dashes in front of my bin and folder names so they appear higher in the list (all our Unity clients are named Avid 1, Avid 2, etc–so they are often first alphabetically—argh)

Are you using the Easy Setup for DVCPRO HD 1080i/60? or are you manually selecting things.You should not have to be looking for things “that match” in the list…the Easy Setup takes care of everything.

Load the Easy Setup and you should have no problem.

I know its kinda dumb, but why not just duplicate the last frame in the sequence (and give it the next sequential number), knowing it will get cut off anyway. This should get your last frame in.

BTW, I have recently made QT’s from image sequences (AE7 Mac and QT 7.1.6) and did not see this problem.

FCP does not work with AC3 files…in fact it doesnt really work with ANY compressed audio format.

Your system is not very current…..This is a single processor G4? This may not be fast enough for this feature to work.

Try setting for low quality playback in the RT menu.

They have to be FCP RTextreme supported editing formats.

MJPEG and PJPEG are not supported (basically if you see an Easy Setup for a format, then its supported)

Find out what version of Avid you are using and what type of hardware is installed. This will affect your workflow greatly.

Avid Symphony Nitris can edit compressed and uncompressed HD.
Avid Adrenaline can edit DNx compressed HD (no uncompressed HD) only IF they have the HD card upgrade.

Make sure they are using one of these two systems. Make sure you know what resolution you are expected to work at. Are you doing and offline/online workflow…if so, you should use one of the lower quality DNx compressed settings for offline capture. Don’t bother with capturing SD.

If you are offlining on an older Meridien system, you will not have HD capability at all…different workflow entirely (you will need to downconvert coming out of the deck).

FCP 5.1 and up display live scopes that sample full raster (provided your CPU is fast enough)..they are pretty accurate, though I wouldnt throw out your outboard scopes.
