    Call ACSAP or BMI, whichever is listed on the label. Explain who you are and how you want to use the piece. They’ll tell you who you have to contact, etc. You might get lucky and get permission for little or no money. Be aware that there may be many entities that own a piece of the action: publisher, producer, song writers, musicians, movie companies (if in a film), etc. – all who have to give permission.

    Don’t do anything to your drive. Don’t write to the drive. Turn off the computer. Then Google Data Recovery and start dialing. This can be very costly, but your best chance of recovery is to stop using the drive immediately. Usually formatting just wipes the directory that tells the OS where each file is located pn the drive. It may not have erased the data. However, if you use the drive, you may overwrite data as the OS thinks the drive is empty.

    If it really is echo, you can’t remove it. However, it sounds like some phase cancellation may be happening. That’s where sound from talent reaches the mic at a slightly different time than a wall reflection and that can create that hollow sound. Frequencies from 150 to 400 Hz are the range to play around with. Try cutting and boosting in this region and see what happens. Use a parametric eq.

    Have you tried an audio mixdown (Sequence>Render Only>Mixdown)? It will help if you have many audio tracks. Also, have you checked your drives for problems? If their speed has been affected by anything, that could cause dropped frames.

    I read a thread recently that said AfterFX will export differently with settings of 23.976 or 23.98. I’ve not tested that myself. I’m pretty sure FCP’s 23.98 is 23.976.

    You can use Shotput to offload your cards. We use it with P2, but there are many flavors. It will copy to up to 3 drives at once so you can have 2 or 3 simultaneous copies made. It will also verify the copies if you wish. https://www.imagineproducts.com/ShotPut.html

    Another thought is to stay with the green screen and simply add your white background in post. If you shoot on white and then have to do any color correction on the foreground, it will also affect the white background moving its color away from white. Shooting green screen gives you independent control of both the foreground and background.
