Check the audio sample rate on the tape. I’ll bet it’s 32K. Switch you digitize audio sample rate to 32K instead of 48K. Unfortunately you’ll have to render all your audio.

Size is the only parameter you can change with “Live fonts”. However the effects you apply to regular fonts are editable. The effects tab in the inspector will show the active effects. You can add, delete or modify the key frames. It is not intuitive but with some playing around you can make the canned effects look less canned.

I find 1000×1000 pixels(approx) and 150 dpi, then save as a png or jpeg gets you close most of the time. Big enough for a move and without a lot of alising.

I think every one who deals with stills has their own process devolped by trial and error.

I don’t think QT cares how many audio tracks are on a DV codec file. If you can’t see them, They probably aren’t there. I would contact who ever did the digitizing and have them redo it.

You could export and EDL with the clip names as a note and send it along with the DVD. Reading and EDL may be a lost art, but it would save you a lot of typing. And most editors should be able to figure it out.

The Pro media is very similar to the Aja IO. I’m assuming you’re monitoring your BM card. You could use the Pro media as a converter to feed analog sources to the BM card which I’m am assuming is SDI only and could also be capable of HD depending the model.

It sounds like you might need to get someone with some engineering skills to evaluate your system because you might have every thing you need right now, just hooked up poorly.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with Aja products, but if they are not installed properly you’ll have the same issues you have now.

We share an Xraid attached to 1 Mac using gigabit ethernet. We usually limit this to DV and DVCpro50 edit. If you are using the DVCpro HD codec (which is pretty compressed) this might work at least for sharing media. I don’t think you could digitize across the network.

Our dsr-11 dosen’t like MiniDV tapes recorded on Canon camcorders. Might be and interchange issue. It’s weird that it plays most of the tape though. It’s all or nothing with our deck.

Shouldn’t be a problem. We transfer DVCpro50 between Decklink and Aja I/O boxes all the time.
