Not sure which forum to post this in really, but I have a bit of a dilemma! I have been sent some dv files, which were captured from a master digibeta. Apparently, there was meant to be a split on the audio, so on the beta where it was recorded, vocals should be on tracks 1 & 2 and the music should be on tracks 3 & 4. However, I have got the dv files which they were captured to and I can only find 2 audio tracks. Now I am aware that 4 audio tracks i only possible on DV at a lower sample rate while it is native for beta, which leads me to think it hasn’t been captured properly? Final cut states in the info window at the bin that it has 2 mono tracks, while quicktime says it has 2 tracks but they both have the same feed onto them. Is there another way to find tracks 3 and 4 or are they not coming up simply because they aren’t there? I’ve never dealt with anything past 2 audio tracks!

    Ta!

I don’t think QT cares how many audio tracks are on a DV codec file. If you can’t see them, They probably aren’t there. I would contact who ever did the digitizing and have them redo it.
