One caveat I see here is to be sure and save your project under a different name before making any changes that will give you a headache later.

On this end depending on the amount of CC work it is a far more economical saving of time and money to send it out instead. I’d bet you are spending almost as much time doing that as you did editing.

It’s just a consideration of what works for you. I don’t care for all that work personally.

    Hey Mike,
I thought in prior posts I had read that the 2 pass always gave a better result even where bitrate and length were not factors. If the CBR is the proper format for what you stated then I will in the future do as you suggest. Thanks for advice as always.

Place them on separate tracks and use track motion to resize each on and place them where you would like. Use the help feature if you are unfamiliar with this.

Yes John is correct in that this is particular to Roger’s problem it is not an answer as it only provides a means to maintain the original tracks before creating the mulitcam track. I don’t edit this way but have played with it enough to see the benefits and draw backs.

Personally I create my own multi track views using track motion and save it as a preset. It adds a little to the work but affords me the flexibility to be more creative. Might be a case however of “this is how I have always done it” so chances are there are far better methods than mine.

Would it not be easier to make duplicate tracks before creating the multicam track instead and use that as an undo of a sort? Not sure why Sony decided to have it combine all the tracks into one. I’m still not a huge fan of how it is done so I am sticking to my own methods and it avoids all the issues I see posted. It is nice to be able to click in the preview window to chose which view to use but it sure has is drawbacks when you need to move things around and get creative.

Unfortunately there is no way to do what you are asking. You could crop one and then copy and paste the event attributes to the rest after selecting them all but if you have any FX or such you will lose them. It would be a nice track feature to have though.

Thanks John I have the trial version downloaded but not installed. My rule is to never jump on the upgrade bandwagon until most of the bugs have been worked out. All of those files have been transcoded to the MXF format already but I thought when I did this way back when I did not have to…was wrong of course. Thanks again I think I will wait a while longer before making the upgrade.

  • You can add as many lines as you like and have the credits run forever. What you are probably doing is using the given template as is. Right click in space where the text would go and simply add another row. On the left hand side you can select what the format is for his new row whether that be a header, single, or two column format. Hope this helps.

Thanks John for the info. The majority of my shoots are 3 camera but I film for a dance company and for performances I prefer 6 but alas the budget gets in the way. Thanks as always for the prompt reply
